Split King or Split California King Mattresses and Adjustable Bases
With all of our mattresses, couples can choose a split option to fit their specific needs. We recommend this option in Split King (SK) or Split California King (SC) in order to provide the best support system for both of you. This means purchasing two separate mattresses depending upon each person's preference (or select the SmartLife option that adjusts per side according to your unique body). SK/SC mattresses will fit onto two separate adjustable base frames that allow for independent movement - a perfect solution for couples with different sleep preferences.

Advantages to this option include:

• You don't have to compromise your sleep style. If your partner needs a firmer mattress but you need something softer and/or cooler, you each get your preference.
• With your own comfort met, you'll sleep better and not experience joint or back pain when sleeping or during waking hours.
• Reduce acid reflux by sleeping with your neck and upper body slightly lifted.
• Stop snoring by elevating your head with the adjustable base.
• Increase circulation when you sleep with slightly raised head and feet.
• Because there are two separate mattresses, SK/SC beds tend to provide less sleep interruption when a sleep partner moves, compared with a bed that has one shared mattress.

Split Top Mattress and Adjustable Base
This option is similar to the one above (Split King/California King). The main difference is that the independent movement through the adjustable base can only occur at the top of the bed. Your footer adjustment will be in unison. This split top option is also good for couples with different sleep adjustment preferences as long as you agree about your mattress needs. If you don't, you can still purchase a split top SmartLife mattress that will adjust each side according to your unique body.

What sheets will fit this split mattress option?
A King/Cal King sheet will work just fine with this set up as long as you are purchasing a good quality one that allows for some give as the adjustable base moves. The one caveat to this working well is if you are setting your adjustable bases regularly to drastically different positions.

One of the best sheets we offer for the split mattress and base set-up are Sheex brand. Sheex sheets are designed with a four-way stretch that allows them to move with the bed, so they stay in place no matter what position you're in. They are also incredibly durable, crucial for adjustable beds since the frequent movement will ultimately cause more wear and tear, particularly on more basic sheet options.
